Distribution of cDNA yields of sequencing-quality single neuron samples. Reverse transcription and 18-cycle PCR amplification of cDNA from single neurons using SMARTer resulted in yields of cDNA in the range of 0.14–2.97 (mean 0.70 ± 0.53) ng/μl. We found samples with substantially higher yields to be frequently contaminated (see also Figure 3).
