6‐Dihydroparadol increases A) ABCA1 and B) ABCG1 protein stability. THP‐1 cells were differentiated as described in Figure 2. Then cells were loaded with unlabeled cholesterol and treated with 6‐dihydroparadol (10 μm), or solvent vehicle (0.1% DMSO, control) for 24 h. Cells were lysed at different time points (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 h) after treatment with the protein synthesis inhibitor cycloheximide (CHX, 100 μm). The protein levels of both ABCA1 and ABCG1 were detected by Western blot analysis. The data points represent mean ± SD from three independent experiments. *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.01 versus control at the same time point (determined by Student's t‐test).
