Histochemical detection of BHA effect on the aluminum-enhanced lipid peroxidation in pea roots. Pea seedlings were treated with or without 10 μm aluminum in the presence (∗) or absence of 20 μm BHA in 100 μm CaCl₂ (pH 4.75) for 24 h. The roots were stained with Schiff's reagent for the detection of lipid peroxidation as described in “Materials and Methods.” The positive staining shows a bright image in the photomicrograph.
