Effect of BHA on the aluminum-induced callose
production in pea roots. Pea seedlings were treated with aluminum
concentrations of 0, 5, 10, and 15 μm, in the presence or
absence of 20 μm BHA in 100 μm
CaCl2 (pH 4.75) for 24 h. Then, a 10-mm
section of the root apex was analyzed for callose content as described
in “Materials and Methods.” All data show the means ±
se of a total of four replicates (each replicate comprising
two 10-mm root apices) from two independent experiments.
