Effect of BHA on the aluminum-induced inhibition
of root elongation in pea roots. Pea seedlings were treated with
aluminum concentrations of 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 μm in
the presence or absence of 20 μm BHA in 100
μm CaCl2 (pH 4.75) for 24 h.
The roots were harvested for a analysis of root elongation as described
in “Materials and Methods.” All data show the means ±
se of a total of three replicates (each replicate
comprising six roots) from three independent experiments.
