Distributions of radiolabel in chloroform-soluble products following introduction of either [¹⁴C]carboxyl- or [³H]methyl-labeled SAM. The assays were performed as described in the materials and methods and the chloroform-soluble material was chromatographed with the second two-dimensional system described in “Materials and Methods.” The chloroform-soluble compounds were visualized with iodine vapors after chromatography (top) and visible spots were scraped into scintillation vials for determination of radioactivity (bottom).
