Table 1.
Biometric measurements | WT | WT + PJ | eNOS−/− | eNOS−/− + PJ |
---|---|---|---|---|
Crown-rump length (mm) | 29 (27–31) | 28 (28–31) | 28 (26–29)∗ | 28 (27–29)∗ |
Head circumference (mm) | 29 (26–29) | 27 (27–28)ϕ | 28 (25–29)∗ | 26 (24–29)∗ϕ |
Abdominal circumference (mm) | 27 (24–29) | 27 (25–27)ϕ | 26 (24–28)∗∗ | 25 (23–27)∗∗ϕ |
Measurements of crown-rump length, head circumference and abdominal circumference median (range), N = 14–20 l, n = 56–80 fetuses. eNOS−/− fetus’ were smaller by all measures compared to WT (two-way ANOVA: ∗p < O.05, ∗∗p < 0.01 vs. WT control). PJ supplementation significantly reduced head circumference and abdominal circumference irrespective of genotype (two-way ANOVA, ϕP < 0.05 vs. genotype matched water drinking control).
