In vivo effects of Resistin. Ovarian cancer cells A2780 (2 million) were injected to establish xenografts in SCID mice. (A) Mice were administered resistin or PBS, as indicated in ‘Methods’, and tumor volumes calculated. (B) EMT markers (e-cadherin, vimentin and ZEB1), (C) stemness markers (sox2, oct4 and nanog) and (D) miRNA levels were quantitated by quantitative RT-PCR in tumor remnants. The shown values are relative to those in control mice (PBS-fed) which were set to 1 and the relative fold-changes were calculated. *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.01, compared to control.
