Differential miR-125b expression in low grade glioma subsets. MiR-125b expression detected by in situ hybridization was lower in pilocytic astrocytoma (PA) compared to diffuse astrocytomas (DA) and non-neoplastic brain (“brain”). Conversely, miR-124, a ubiquitous microRNA expressed in neurons was underexpressed in all gliomas tested. U6 was expressed in all tissues, while the scramble (negative) control was negative. Figures are representative of each group tested and all are taken with a 40X objective. The scale bar on the upper left figure applies to all figures in the panel.
