The anatomic dead space VD-A was used for the frequency calculation of ASV and AVM2. VD-E represents the dead space determined by PaCO2 and the Enghoff modification of the Bohr equation. For the simulation, this was used both for the frequency calculation of MFV and for the calculation of the Enghoff alveolar minute volume MVA-E
