Treatment of HL-60 cell with complexes of Fg (20 µg mL⁻¹) and gold NP (5 µg mL⁻¹) induced the secretion of TNF-α. Cationic gold NPs induced TNF-α secretion to a higher level than anionic gold NPs, but even the latter effect was statistically significant. Asterisk indicate p < 0.05 compared to NP alone (respective control).
