ZIKV infection alters cerebral cortex angiogenesis proteins levels. Cerebral cortex tissue extracts from three E15.5 embryos from three different litters of each experimental group were evaluated by angiogenesis proteomic profile. From 53 possible angiogenesis-related proteins, we identified 47 both present in MOCK and ZIKV infected brains (A). ZIKV infection increased the levels of 45 molecules (B). Besides their previously described role on angiogenesis, many identified proteins also contribute to other biological processes (C), including neurogenesis (19.66%), cell migration (16.85%), CNS development (7.87%) and inflammatory responses (8.43%).
