Average non-fasting blood glucose levels of four diabetic rats transplanted with islets encapsulated in HA-COL hydrogel over 1 year. “0” marks the day of the islet transplant surgery. Values to the left of “0” were taken before transplant to confirm a diabetic state. All animals showed normal blood glucose levels at sacrifice. Data points beyond 40 weeks are from only three animals, as one animal was sacrificed at this time point.
