PEC induced G2/M phase arrest, autophagy, and apoptosis by down-regulation of PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, leading to the down-regulation of p-4E-BP1, p-p70S6K, and p-eIF4E. Altogether, PEC treatment has potential as a chemotherapeutic for the treatment of human gastric carcinoma.
