C57BL/6 mice were inoculated with approximately 1 x 105 spores of 630Δerm (n = 10), clnR (MC885; n = 10), clnAB (MC935; n = 10), clnR Tn::clnRAB (MC950; n = 9), or clnAB Tn::clnRAB (MC953; n = 9) as detailed in Methods.
