The severity of gastrointestinal symptoms assessed as gastrointestinal symptom rating scale (GSRS) scores (means and 95% confidence interval) in patients with TNX deficiency (n = 11) and healthy controls (n = 2162). Abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhoea were significantly higher compared to Swedish controls (^**** P < 0.0001, ^*** P = 0.0194). Data are shown as mean values with standard deviation. Statistical analysis was performed using an unpaired Student's t test for each symptom (P < 0.05).
