Production of human α1-antitrypsin following non-viral mediated gene transfer in vitro. Human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293T cells were transfected with plasmids expressing human α1-antitrypsin. Plasmids expressing either hAAT or sohAAT cDNAs (pCIK-hAAT, pCIK-sohAAT, phCEFI-hAAT, and phCEFI-sohAAT; Table 1) were complexed with LF2000. Plasmid pCIK-GLux was included as a negative control. Human AAT expression in cell culture supernatant was quantified 48 h post transduction and normalised to total protein content in each well. Each data point represents one well.
