Colon smooth muscle contractility of sham and OB rats without and with antibiotic treatment. Smooth muscle contractility in colon muscle strips dissected from sham (round clear), OB (square clear), antibiotic treated sham (sham + AB, round solid) and antibiotic treated OB rats (OB + AB, square solid) was determined in muscle bath. Quantitative data are represented as area under curves (AUCs) after normalized using the cross section area of each strip.
