Quantitative comparison of the photosynthetic apparatus in the proteomes of CpcDAla and CpcDAsp mutants and the wild-type. Proteins from cultures grown vegetatively (Grw.), in chlorosis for 6 d (Chlor.), or recovered from chlorosis (Res.; 48 h resuscitation) were extracted, digested with trypsin, dimethylated, and analyzed by mass spectroscopy. The relative abundances of the peptides of the mutants and wild-type were compared. Quantified peptide ratios (log2) of photosynthetic proteins were visualized in a heatmap (left panel: protein ratio CpcDAla/WT; right panel: protein ratio CpcDAsp/WT). Proteins with lower abundance in CpcD mutants (protein ratio ≤ 0) are indicated by magenta, and proteins with higher abundance in CpcD mutants (protein ratio ≥ 0) are indicated by green.
