CANTAB performance scores for Group 1 and Group 2 as compared with healthy controls based on CANTAB battery cluster analysis. Statistically significant differences were set as p < 0.05 using Student’s t test or the Mann-Whitney test. Even though Group 1 included a number of multiple sclerosis patients, there were no significant differences between the healthy control group and Group 1, suggesting that the multiple sclerosis patients in Group 1 were not significantly different than subjects in the healthy control group. In contrast, compared to the healthy control group, Group 2 showed significantly lower performance, particularly on CANTAB tasks that relied on rapid information processing
