Structural alteration of a cerebral aneurysm. Intracranial arteries are normally composed of firm layers, including endothelial cell, internal elastic lamina, smooth muscle cells, extracellular matrices, and adventitia. Meanwhile, aneurysmal changes result from perturbations of one or more of these components.
