Our pediatric MRU protocol

Patient arrives 60–90 prior to exam time NPO 4 h if non-sedate (otherwise set by anesthesia)
Place bladder catheter and clamp
Place IV catheter (two IV catheters if sedation is needed)
IV hydration 10 mL/kg IV saline over 15 min for sedated patients or 30 min for non-sedated

IV diuretic 0.5 to 1 mg/kg (max dose = 40 mg)
