Effect of a shift from nighttime feeding (NF, blue curves) to daytime feeding (DF, red curves): when food intake (shifted by 12 h, panel A) and SCN-driven cues (not shifted, panel B) are conflicting, some components are shifted by almost 12 h (panels C,D and F) while others are shifted much less (panel E). This also leads to hypoinsulinemia (panel F). The alternation of white and grey bars symbolises the LD cycles.
