Immunization with pDsRed2-GRA8 significantly increased the survival times of mice in acute toxoplasmosis. Survival rates of mice immunized with pDsRed2-GRA8, pDsRed2-N1, PBS, and blank control mice followed by challenge with 1×103 tachyzoites of the T. gondii strain GFP-RH at 2 weeks after the last immunization. The differences between the pDsRed2-GRA8 vaccinated group and each of the 3 control groups were significant. ***P<0.001 versus the pDsRed2-N1, PBS and blank control groups.
