The sentinel variant per independent locus is indicated with a blue cross. Testing the effects of these 48 sentinel variants in males, we found 44 replicated in males (Wald P < 1.1 × 10⁻⁶, red cross), whereas the other 4 loci were female-specific, as they clearly lacked an effect in males (Wald P > 0.19)
