Incidence of adverse drug reaction following statin treatment. Hepatotoxicity was defined as a new elevation of aspartate aminotransferase or alanine aminotransferase 3 times higher than normal [13]. Myopathy was defined as an elevation of creatine phosphokinase 5 times higher than normal or myalgia requiring statin discontinuation [14]. New-onset diabetes mellitus was defined as a new clinical diagnosis of diabetes mellitus or fasting blood glucose > 126 mg/mL [15].
