PC1 structure and C-tail sequence. The G-protein activation domain (G-activation, black cylinder) is a peptide region capable of activating nucleotide exchange of heterotrimeric G-proteins (αβγ). The site of ADPKD-associated human mutation L4132Δ (ΔL) is indicated by an arrow in the C-tail cytosolic domain. The coiled-coil (coiled-coil, hatched cylinder) mediates interactions with PC2. PC1 is cleaved at a G-protein coupled receptor proteolytic site (GPS cleavage, star) to produce N-and C-terminal fragments (NTF, CTF; respectively).
