aFor animal models, σ2a = direct additive variance; σ2l = variance due to litter effects; σ2e = residual variance; σ2p = phenotypic variance = σ2a + σ2l + σ2e; h2 = heritability = σ2a2p; l2 = σ2l2p; and tfs = the full-sib correlation = (0.5σ2a + σ2l)/σ2p. The SE of tfs was not available.

bFor sire models, σ2s = direct additive variance among sires; σ2l = variance due to litter effects and included the direct additive variance among dams; σ2e = residual variance and included the Mendelian sampling variance for direct additive effects; and σ2p = phenotypic variance was estimated as σ2s + σ2l + σ2e. For comparability with estimates derived from animal models, h2 was estimated as 4σ2s2p, l2 was estimated as (σ2l − σ2s)/σ2p, and tfs was estimated as (½h2 + l2). The SE of tfs and l2 were not available for sire models.
