The Bursera copallifera extract decreased migration of the highly metastatic MDA-MB-231 cell line. We used the scratch-wound assay to evaluate changes in migration ability in both cell lines treated with the B. copallifera extract. Cells were treated for 24 hours with nontoxic concentrations of the extract at this time point. In (A), a representative image is shown of both cell lines with vehicle treatment (0) or 2.5 and 5 μg/mL B. copallifera extract. The wound is shown in the brightfield image. Cells were stained with calcein after 24 hours of treatment and the green fluorescent intensity inside the wound area was quantified. In (B), the graph shows the mean + SE of a representative experiment performed in triplicate. *Different from vehicle-treated cells, p < .05.
