Biofilm formation of A. baumannii ATCC17978 in the Amsterdam active attachment model. After 4 days of growth in low-salt LB medium, with or without QQ enzyme Aii20J (20 μg/mL), biofilm was stained with (A) crystal violet or (B) SYTO9TM and propidium iodide to distinguish live cells from dead cells. Images corresponding with the biofilm formed close to the interface liquid-air are representative of several replicates.
