MRC5 cells were infected at an MOI of 0.2. Cells and supernatants were harvested on days 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 postinfection, and DNA was purified from each sample. Total numbers of viral genomes were determined for each sample using qPCR. Cells and infected cells were counted in a parallel plate. Each measurement was made in triplicate, and mean values of the two wells per time point are given for each day (except day 10 p.i.).
