¹H NMR (500 MHz, CD₃CN, 298 K) comparison between the spectra of: (a) the protonated non-interlocked molecular axle 2u-H⁺; (b) the protonated [2]rotaxane 2-H⁺; (c) the carbamoylated [2]rotaxane 2-Boc; (d) the carbamoylated non-interlocked analogue 2u-Boc. The numbering and coloring of the signals correspond to those indicated in Scheme 1. All the ¹H NMR spectra have been carried out at a concentration of 4.9 × 10⁻² M.
