Localization patterns of SOX9 in squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) cells in primary and metastatic lesions. In the primary lesions, the localization of SOX9 was found only in the nuclei (A and B), both in the nuclei and the cytoplasm (C and D), or only in the cytoplasm (E and F). Cytoplasmic SOX9 was detected in both the primary lesion (G) and the metastatic lymph nodes (H) resected from the same patient. SOX9, SRY-box 9.
