LPS pretreatment improves post-ischemic cardiac function. The figure shows cardiac functional parameters (A–H). Isolated rat hearts were subjected to 10 min equilibration period and 30 min normothermic global ischemia, followed by 20 min reperfusion, 24 h after in vivo 0.5 mg/kg low-dose lipopolysaccharide (LPS) treatment.
