Quenching of mucins fluorescence (0.1 mg.mL⁻¹) in the presence of different concentrations of AuNP1 without (A) or with (B) the application of the global correction factor for the inner filter effect with (equation (1)), and AuNP2 without (C) or with (D) the application of the global correction factor for the inner filter effect with (equation (1)). The concentrations of AuNP2 are (1) 0.05, (2) 0.1, (3) 0.15, (4) 0.2, (5) 0.3, (6) 0.4, (7) 0.5 and (8) 0.6 mg.mL⁻¹. The excitation wavelength is 285 nm.
