Figure 5.

Expression of inflammatory and anti-inflammatory markers. (a) The densities of inflammatory and anti-inflammatory markers. (b) Quantitative data obtained by densitometry showing optical densities (OD) relative to GFP-MSCs. The expression of TNF-α and IL-6 was significantly lower in combination and HO-1-MSCs groups compared to BDNF and GFP-MSCs groups (*P ≤ 0.05). The expression of COX2 was significantly decreased in all combination, BDNF-, and HO-1-MSCs groups compared to the GFP-MSCs group (*P ≤ 0.05). pSTAT3 was upregulated in both combination and HO-1-MSCs group compared to BDNF- and GFP-MSCs groups (*P ≤ 0.05); its expression was also higher in the BDNF group compared to the GFP-MSCs group (#P ≤ 0.05). IL-10 was significantly higher in the combination and HO-1 groups (*P ≤ 0.05) compared to the BDNF and GFP-MSCs groups. The graph represents mean ± standard error of four dogs per groups, as determined by densitometry relative to β-actin.
