The relationship between FKBP5 mRNA levels and miR-320a levels in individuals after motor vehicle collision is dependent on the FKBP5 3′UTR allele, rs3800373. In the early aftermath of MVC, FKBP5 mRNA and miR-320a expression is negatively correlated in individuals with the protective allele (A; major allele, n = 22, r = −0.475, p = 0.026) but is not correlated in individuals with at least one copy of the risk allele (B; minor allele, n = 44, r = 0.144, p = 0.349). Pearson correlation coefficients (r) and p values were calculated using bivariate analyses.
