Higher gene expression in compartment A than in B. Genes located in compartment A have a significantly higher expression level than those in B in each cell type. Mean log2(FPKM+1) in compartment A is 3.73, 3.66, 3.69, and 3.63, and that in B is 3.34, 3.12, 3.26, and 2.81, respectively, in 3T3-L1, 3T3-L1-D, C2C12, and C2C12-D (Wilcoxon's test, P < 10-16). Genes located in compartment A/B are divided into ten clusters by FPKM decile. In each cluster, genes in compartment A are significantly more highly expressed than in B (Wilcoxon's test, P < 10-16 for each pair of compartment A vs. B).
