The expression of the receptor and substrate proteins for the different BoNT serotypes was determined in differentiated SIMA cells stably expressing hPOMC1-26-GLuc. (A) mRNA was isolated and relative mRNA expression was determined by RT-qPCR, as described in the methods section. Expression level of SV2A and SNAP25 was arbitrarily set as 1 for the comparison of the mRNA of the receptor and substrate proteins, respectively. Values are means ± SEM of 3 independent mRNA preparations. (B) Protein expression of the different proteins was determined in three independently produced cell lysates (indicated by the non-readable text on the blot membranes) with specific antibodies by Western blot.
