Grade 1 (mild). Ascites is only detectable by an examination such as ultrasound. Grade 2 (moderate). Ascites causing moderate symmetrical distension of the abdomen. Grade 3 (large). Ascites causing marked abdominal distension. '●' indicate recommended treatment.
