The coronal plane images are of actual sections showing in-plane orientation, whereas the axial images are virtual, based on the registered coronal stacks, showing the orientations from the coronal sections. The circles indicate areas of circumferential fibers, whereas the solid arrows point to areas of radial fibers. In all the species, the coronal sections and the virtual longitudinal sections show clearly the three fiber families.
