Verification of TuMet expression in transgenic tobacco plants. (A) Total RNA isolated from Met transgenic plants and control plants expressing the vector only were used in qRT-PCR to determine TuMet mRNA levels. The error bars show Mean ± SEM (n = 3). (B) Tobacco leaves cut into to 4 × 4 cm squares were placed above the wet cotton in a Petri dish. Twenty to thirty TSSM larvae were placed on control and dsMet expressing leaf discs. The mortality was checked on seventh day after initiation of feeding assay. The error bars show Mean ± SEM (n = 3).
