Nestin expression is lower in atherosclerotic plaque vs. normal artery. mRNA was prepared from 127 human carotid atherosclerotic plaques and 10 normal arteries and analysed by microarray to determine: (A) total NES mRNA expression and (B) the ratio of NES mRNA relative to the EC markers VWF or CD34.
