Table 2. Significant effects of number and spacing in early visual cortex, but not the parietal localizer region.

F tests were performed to determine if there was a direct effect in each ROI. The first row are the results from the cluster found in the whole brain analysis shown in Figure 2. The second row are the results from the individually defined localizer ROIs shown in Figure 3. We did not perform follow-up T tests in the localizer ROIs because the F test was not significant at p < 0.1, and so there was no evidence of a direct effect of stimulus on signal. Degrees of freedom for the F tests were (3,88) and for the T tests were (1,88).
