Rates of oxygen consumption were measured in duplicates using oxygen electrode for two contrasting pairs of rice genotypes at the time taken for 50% seeds to germinate (t½) and shown in terms of genotypes and treatments. Mean values for all genotypes and all N treatments are categorized into statistically distinct classes as denoted by their superscripted alphabetic character. Values with different alphabets are significant at P < 0.05.
