Patient disposition. A total of 554 patients were included and randomized. Of the 182 patients randomized to placebo, 178 started treatment, of which 3 discontinued treatment early, 2 discontinued before the end of the study, and 173 completed the trial. Of the 372 patients randomized to LPP, 367 started treatment, of which 22 discontinued treatment early, 6 discontinued before the end of the study, and 339 completed the trial.
