Beauvericin inhibits the expression of melanogenesis-related genes. (A) B16F10 cells were incubated with the indicated concentrations of beauvericin for 24 h. mRNA levels of melanogenesis-related genes MITF, tyrosinase, TRP-1, and TRP-2 were determined by real-time PCR. The results were expressed relative to untreated cells after normalization against the GAPDH level. Results were confirmed from at least three independent experiments and values represent the means ± SEM. *P < 0.05 vs. untreated control. P-values were obtained by Student’s t-test. (B) B16F10 cells were incubated with the indicated concentrations of beauvericin for 24 h. The protein levels of MITF, tyrosinase, TRP-1, and TRP-2 were determined by Western blot analysis. Equivalent amounts of protein were analyzed. Results were confirmed from at least three independent experiments and values represent the means ± SEM. P-values were obtained by the one-way ANOVA. *P < 0.05 vs. untreated control. BEA, beauvericin.
