Tree shrews (n = 4 per group) were inoculated with 106 TCID50 of H9N2 viruses (Y280-wt or Y280-PB2-E627K). Nasal turbinate (ad) and trachea (eh) tissue were collected at 2 and 4 dpi, processed into paraffin sections and stained for the presence of influenza virus antigen by IHC.
