A simplified schematic of the two gene structures [Mouse Bcl2l11, University of California-Santa Cruz (UCSC) transcript isoform 1; human BCL2L11, UCSC transcript isoform 1] is shown. Driving the design of this engineering experiment was the desire to humanize the central region of the mouse Bcl2l11 gene to investigate a cancer-associated 2.9-kbp deletion polymorphism.
