Genetic screening among folC, glnD, and ugd interaction pairs. The Hfr Cavalli donor mutants, folC and glnD, were crossed with the indicated F− recipient mutant strains (*, essential hypomorph), and the resulting double mutants were selected on rich medium plates containing chloramphenicol (CmR) and kanamycin (KanR). The same recipient plate was used for screening of folC and glnD donors.
